This medication is used to treat or prevent pulmonary arterial hypertension (PAH) in adults. It works by relaxing blood vessels in the lungs and increasing blood flow. This medication is known as a "."It belongs to a class of drugs known asStatins. It also is used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension. Sildenafil relaxes smooth muscles in the walls of the arteries, allowing more blood to flow in and allowing for healthier, more effective blood flow.
